The basics

What Are Livery Codes?

Livery codes are text strings that store a full paint job in FR Legends. Paste one into the livery editor and the design, stripes, kanji, gradients, sponsor text, you name it, materializes on your car instantly. There are two flavors: body codes, which paint the car itself, and window codes, which handle the glass and surrounding trim. Most full wraps use one of each, applied through separate tabs in the editor.

How to Apply a Code

Open the car in your garage

Pick any car you own, with the mod installed that is every car in the game, including the Supra, RX-7, and BMW builds.

Go to the liveries section

From the car's customization screen, tap the livery or paint option to open the design editor.

Choose the body or window editor

Body codes go into the body tab, window codes into the window tab. Pasted into the wrong tab, a code simply won't produce the design.

Paste the code and confirm

Long-press the text field, paste the string exactly as written, and confirm. The design applies immediately, exit to the garage and enjoy it.

Example codes in community format, verify before applying. Codes like these are shared between players daily, but a single character difference changes the whole design, so always compare the string you paste with the one on screen.

These are placeholder examples in the community format, not verified working builds, the format is what matters here. In the mod version, testing is free: every car is unlocked, so you can see how any design reads on a dozen different bodies before committing to one.

Paste like a pro

Tips for Applying Codes

  • Exact match matters. Codes are sensitive to every character. A zero swapped for the letter O, or a missing hyphen, and the design either fails or renders differently than the screenshot.
  • Watch case and spacing. Some codes use uppercase, some mix case. Copy the string, don't retype it, and never leave a trailing space after the last character.
  • Check the tab. Body code into the window editor (or the reverse) is the most common "broken code" report, and the easiest fix.
  • Test on a throwaway car first. In the mod, grab a car you don't care about, apply the code, and inspect it from all angles before putting it on your main build.
  • Combine body and window codes. The best-looking cars usually layer a window banner over a body wrap, the two editors were designed to work together.

Livery Codes, FAQ

What is a body code vs window code?
A body code paints the car itself, paint, stripes, gradients, and graphics. A window code does the same for the glass area only. You paste each one into its own editor tab, and they can be combined on the same car for a full wrap.
Why won't my code apply?
The most common causes are a typo in the code, an extra space at the start or end, or pasting it into the wrong editor tab. Codes are case-sensitive in practice, so compare your string character by character against the original before giving up on it.
Do codes work in multiplayer?
Yes. Liveries are part of your car's local save data, so other players see your applied design in lobbies and battles just like they would in the original game. Applying a code doesn't change anything about your connection.
Can I share codes I make?
You can. When you finish a design in the livery editor, the game generates a code string for it. Share that string on forums, Discord, or social media, and anyone who pastes it into their own editor gets the same design.
Do livery codes work in FR Legends 2?
Codes from the first game generally do not carry over, because FR Legends 2 has its own editor and code format. If a design is popular enough, the community usually recreates it for the sequel within a few weeks.
Is there a limit of codes per car?
There is no hard limit on how many codes you can apply or save. Each car stores its livery locally, and you can swap designs as often as you like, that is exactly what makes the mod version so good for testing.
